Second Season Decor Mozart End Table
Second Season Decor presents "Mozart's" end table. The following collage of photos illustrates the transformation of the piece ( I've been told before & after shots are fun )! This Four legged oak table was purchased from an estate sale. Repaired, restored and ready to ship. The top of the table is a decoupage of vintage music sheet prints. The color is grey-blue, with a distressed finish. The decoupage is sealed and can be antiqued upon request for free. Contact us direct for pricing / shipping options.

"talisman"
I began this piece in 2007, the same year I joined Facebook. One of the first people to send a friend request was a young man from Italy by the name of Marco. We collaborated on a hybrid work (Marco sent a profile picture which I in turn painted on canvas). An image of the painting was sent back to Marco to digitally manipulate. Nonetheless, and after many attempts, my family voted that the painting be taken down because of the "spooky" eyes that follow. I primed the canvas and began brainstorming ideas. I incorporated the decorative owl collage to instill the sense of being watched over, while at the same time preserving Marco's youthful spirit. The following images illustrate the transformation. The piece will be listed on Etsy.com 12/09/11. Limited edition prints are available, as is the original. Contact me direct for pricing options. Thank you!

A quick holiday note:
Buy local! You'll feel better about yourself, and more connected to your community and family. The Wampanoag and Tongan cultures used shells and beads of fine workmanship as gift giving and commerce (and in some cases, record keeping). Second Season subscribes to this policy, with an "island chain" mentality. ᏩᏙ!
Salvage of the day (A Second Season Special Addition)!
I woke up this morning and what did I see? Treasure popping up; right in front of me! My children asked why I always go through our neighbors trash, to which I replied, "one man's trash is another man's treasure". An abstract thought really, for a 1st and 6th grader, who are constantly taught to consume. Nonetheless, I discreetly removed the desired grounds with my trusty left handed flat head screwdriver while taking out my own trash. No one know the wiser, yet my children waited for me to finish before they ran off to school. In the meantime, I'm ecstatic over the find! 5 potential canvas grounds, 3 of which I am considering a Christmas like "tryptic".
So, the Salvage of the Day, in essence, is at the very foundation of Second Season. This is the process, from the genesis. I will post the resulting works of whimsy as they are completed! Stay tuned- and keep your eyes peeled on your neighbors trash. Seriously. Do it.

New Project
I'm really amped about this new piece. The fishing reels represent three generations of family anglers. The reels and replacement spools will be incorporated into some type of undiscovered (as of yet) pattern or design (I feel impressed to add some type of kinetic component). Stay on the hook for future developments!
"Thank You For Visiting"
I really enjoyed working on this project. To begin, I found a wonderful hand stitched image of a tree in season. The work was hand crafted on linen which provided the perfect foundation for my idea. Once the piece was in the workshop I promptly added a heavy coat of gesso, allowing it to dry, followed by a light sanding with 220. I repeated the previous step an addition two times, followed by a final scuff with steel wool. Acrylic paint was then applied in a watered down state, allowed to dry and repeated several times. The final work was polished with both steel wool and cheese cloth to a unique burnished luster with a tactile feel of considerable complexity. The piece measures 19.5"x 25.5" (un-framed). This Second Season one-of-kind re-purposed work of art is available for purchase at $179.00 (price does not include shipping- free delivery within the Denver region). Contact for availability as the holidays are quickly before us! Thank you for your interest.
